The Art of Fighting by Alex Barnes & Gavain Browne, WEFF 2012

WEFF 2012 will again showcase some of the country’s finest short films at West End’s Rumpus Cinema on Sunday March 25.

The festival highlights will include James F. Kehtie’s BAFTA award-winning drama ‘The Telegram Man’ starring Jack Thompson, Gary Sweet and Sigrid Thornton; Simon Cottee’s darkly hilarious animation ‘The Wedding’ and Brisbane band Ball Park Music’s newest music video ‘It’s Nice to be Alive’, made locally by Brisbane-based Director Alex Barnes.

As well as serving up a great selection of short films, the festival will also feature the presentation of three $1000 awards for Best Film judged by Industry, Best Film judged by Community and Best Animation.

The festival, now in its third year, is the only Brisbane-grown festival dedicated solely to showcasing Australian short films.  WEFF will once again transform the urban space behind West End’s famous drinking haunt The Rumpus Room into an open air pop-up cinema for the event.

Doors open at 5.30pm on Sunday 25 March. Tickets can be purchased here under the “Tickets” tab at the top of the page or from the Rumpus Cinema Box Office after 4PM on the day of the event. We suggest that you pre buy tickets as we have sold out in the past, click HERE to pre buy tickets!
