The West End Film Festival operates on two levels; the first is a national short film competition to showcase the efforts of Australian filmmakers, the second is an important social and artistic event held in Brisbane’s West End.
Our call for film entries is cast widely, throughout Australia’s film communities and artistic scenes. Short films of all genres are welcomed, and we aim to capture the best short film content available. Films are pre-screened and judged by community and industry panels, and finalists are screened at our unique event, to be held on 25th March 2012.
Located behind one of West End’s most popular bars, the Rumpus Cinema offers a unique and exciting film experience. Our gala event screens films in a large space behind the Rumpus Room bar on Boundary Street, right in the heart of Brisbane’s beloved West End.
This night will feature multiple screening sessions of the festival’s best films as well as an awards ceremony with cash prizes being presented to the winning filmmakers over four award categories.
The Rumpus Cinema is located behind the Rumpus Room bar, cnr Russell Street and Boundary Street, West End. For map click HERE.
